Biography

Edna Eleanora Oberdorf, 74, of 9645 Colonel John Kelly Road, Mifflinburg, passed away peacefully at 7:34 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 2010 at her residence surrounded by family.

She was born on June 14, 1935 in Union County, to the late Hugh Jefferson and Lena Katherine (Aikey) Aikey. On March 3, 1951, she married Walter Reed Oberdorf, who preceded her in death on January 9, 1994.

Mrs. Oberdorf was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, traveling with her sisters, being with her friends and spending time with her family.

She was a member of Church of Christ in Christian Union, Lewisburg.

Surviving are two sons, Larry E. Oberdorf of Middleburg, Edward J. Oberdorf of Mifflinburg; four daughters, Connie J. Dressler of Mifflinburg, Vera E. Frederick of Mifflinburg, Marie E. Stahl of New Columbia, Wendy A. Poeth of Lewisburg; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Mervin Aikey of Mifflinburg, Clarence Aikey of Mifflinburg, Howard Aikey of Mifflinburg, six sisters, Sarah E. Oberdorf of Millmont, Vera Kreisher of Mifflinburg, Rachel Lohr of Mifflinburg, Anna Mook of Mifflinburg, Nancy Erb of Mifflinburg, Bonnie Schell of Tunkhannock; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Amelia Hanselman; three brothers, Hugh J. Aikey Jr., Galen Aikey and Edward Aikey who died in infancy.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, June 10, 2010, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Schwartz-Adamo Funeral and Cremation Services, 247 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg and on Friday from 10-11 a.m. at Church of Christ in Christian Union, 199 Newman Road, Lewisburg, PA, where the funeral will follow at 11 with Rev. John F. Saultz, officiating.

Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Forest Hill, Union County, PA.
